For a long time, Kesseböhmer has been supporting committed students at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences through the Germany Scholarship. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, sponsoring organizations and numerous students of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences came together on November 3rd, 2022 in the Alando Ballhaus to exchange ideas and to network.
One of the highlights of the evening was the speech by former German President Christian Wulff, who attended the event as part of his role as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dieter Fuchs Foundation. Another highlight was the awarding of the 2022 scholarships, where Kesseböhmer was pleased to welcome this year's scholarship recipient Julian Becker. "As a long-time supporter of the Germany-Scholarship, we can only echo the words of the former German President. With the Germany-Scholarship we always have the feeling of 'getting more than we give' and are enthusiastic about the possibility of a direct exchange with the university and its students," says Nils Sieksmeyer, personnel marketing officer at Kesseböhmer, about the successful event.
Scholarship Holder soon Bachelor Student
The Germany-Scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) is awarded to students who show special commitment in their studies or in voluntary work or who find themselves in special life situations. "Receiving the Deutschlandstipendium from the Kesseböhmer company is a very great recognition and honor for me! The financial support allows me to focus even more on my studies. Since my bachelor's thesis, which I will write in cooperation with a company, is coming up next semester, the scholarship also served as my first foot in the door to Kesseböhmer," reports Julian Becker, who, as a mechanical engineering student, will write his bachelor's thesis in the design department at Kesseböhmer in Bad Essen in spring 2023.
Germany-Scholarship as a model for success
In 2022, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences was able to award a total of 200 scholarships. Companies, associations and other non-governmental institutions, as well as individuals, pay 150 euros per month. This amount is topped up by the same sum from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Thus, the scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month. Since the start of the program, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences has received a total of more than 6.7 million euros in funding.
