Bending is one of our most important processes in sheet metal working. With modern CNC machines, we can form bent parts in all common formats according to your requirements. We can also bend particularly thick material.
With our sheet metal folder, we are able to bend 6 mm thick sheet steel to a maximum length of 3,000 mm. The bending length depends on the respective material properties and the material thickness.
We have several sheet metal folder with a length of up to 3,000 mm available for forming the blanks. Modern angle sensors ensure the necessary precision and safety even with long workpieces.
In addition, hydraulic presses with a pressing force of 320 t are used for tool-based forming.
The CNC controls of our machines control pressing force and lowering depth. This allows the sheet metal to be bent to different degrees. However, the bending process involves some details that must be taken into account.
Not every material behaves the same when exposed to large forces. Some types of material spring back more strongly when bent or can only be bent with edging foil due to high-quality surfaces.
The computer control system also allows bending processes to be simulated. In this way, the lowering depth of the punch can be optimally planned without having to perform test bends. In addition, the CNC control helps to maintain the minimum bending radius.
Folding, also known as edging, bending or die bending, is an important process in our company. A sheet metal folder has an upper tool (punch) and a lower tool (die). The sheet metal is placed between the tools for bending. By lowering the upper tool in a controlled manner, the sheet metal is pressed into the die and thus bent. This process is also known as free bending.
With a large selection of punches and dies, we can produce angles and radii in various dimensions. If larger radii are required, these can be produced step by step in several bending steps.
