The clearer the picture of the future profession, the easier it is to decide on training that will lead to a fulfilling and successful working life in the long term. In line with this conviction, Kesseböhmer once again organized the "Training Evening" in Bad Essen on November 9, 2022, after a break of several years. Trainees, training staff and human resources managers gave authentic insights into the company and the professions, encouraged participation with job-related tasks and answered the visitors' questions. Around 250 interested students, parents and teachers took advantage of the offer.
Guided tours through the company provided impressions of everyday working life at Kesseböhmer during the evening. At information booths in the modern press shop, which had been specially prepared for the event, trainees explained their areas of expertise, shared their experiences and used practical examples to illustrate the tasks of the various professions. Visitors conducted small chemical experiments, operated a robot conveyor belt or followed vividly presented product presentations with VR glasses. In a photo box, they were able to slip into the roles of some of the professions - equipped with typical clothing items and tools.
A highlight was the Formula Student race car, which students of the Private University of Applied Sciences PHWT Vechta/Diepholz had constructed. Here, interested parties were able to find out more about the dual degree program in industrial engineering and exchange information with participants in the practical project.
From application to long-term employee
During the applicant consultation, the hosts provided information on how career starters today can introduce themselves appropriately and successfully to their future employer. They also explained the applicant management system at Kesseböhmer. "Personally, I really enjoyed being involved in this project, as I was able to contribute my ideas. I was particularly pleased that this cross-departmental cooperation was so well received and that we were thus able to get many visitors interested in training or studying at Kesseböhmer." reports Kira Tegeler, 3rd year industrial clerk apprentice.
A total of 14 technical, industrial and commercial professions as well as dual courses of study were the focus of this year's training evening. These included professional drivers, chemical laboratory assistants, electronics technicians, IT specialists, warehouse logistics specialists, industrial clerks, industrial mechanics, machine and plant operators, surface coaters, technical product designers and process mechanics. At Kesseböhmer, degrees in dual courses of study lead to business administration, business information technology or mechanical engineering.
Multiple award-winning training program
Kesseböhmer employs an average of about 160 trainees and dual students and takes on around 50 new trainees every year at the Bad Essen and Bohmte sites alone. This makes the company one of the largest providers in the region - and one of the best in Germany. This was recently confirmed by the national and cross-sector "Best place to learn" seal of quality. Since July 2022, the company has been identified as a top training company in Germany. Kesseböhmer's "Training Evening" is just one of the main components of the company's multiple award-winning training program.
